Beerwah (pronounced /ˈbɪ:.wa:/ or /ˈbɪə.wa:/) ( 26°51′20″S, 152°57′36″E) is a town on the Sunshine Coast hinterland in Queensland, Australia. It is situated north of the town of Glass House Mountains, approximately 80 km north of Brisbane. Beerwah is most commonly accessed via the newly named Steve Irwin Way (formerly known as the Glasshouse Mountain Tourist Route), off the Bruce Highway. Beerwah is governed by the Caloundra City Council. Beerwah is a growing hinterland town, with the Australia Zoo attraction on its doorstep, and transport links to Brisbane and northbound destinations at Beerwah railway station. | |||||||||||||
