General Searches

Results on Big Roo are produced when the program searches the name, description and keywords of all listings in the database. So, a search for "Brisbane photographers", for example, will search the name, description and keywords for "Brisbane" and "photographers".

For the Free listings on Big Roo the description is limited to 25 words. Free listings can change their description, but not the keywords. So, it's very important that your description accurately describes your business. Tip: Use plurals whenever possible, e.g. "One of Cairns’ finest resorts" instead of "A fine Cairns resort".

After a successful search the results are displayed on a rotational basis, which means that every time a new search is made, the results will change. This allows every listing to get a fair go and prevents manipulation of the system, as seen with other major search engines, where so-called experts make claims about how they can "guarantee" certain results.

State Searches

For more geographically targeted results use the drop-down box to select a state in Australia. All results will be limited to businesses and orgainisations in the state of your choice.

Business Name Searches
 
Searches can be refined by selecting the "Business name only" option. As it suggests, this option will limit the search to the business' name only. These results are also displayed on a rotational and basis, which means that every time a new search is made, the results will change.
